GoodGiving checks delivered to Clark non-profits

Representatives from 18 Clark County nonprofit organizations braved slick roads and falling snow to meet at Leeds Center for the Arts Tuesday to hear the results of the 2018 goodGiving Challenge.
According to Clark County Community Foundation chair Alex Rowady, more than $1.3 million was raised overall through the challenge, with more than $366,000 raised for Clark County organizations.
The GoodGiving Challenge is an online giving campaign designed to engage the entire community and to make charitable giving easy and fun. Now in its sixth year, the Challenge is a partnership between Blue Grass Community Foundation and Smiley Pete Publishing In addition to receiving contributions from donors, nonprofits will also have the opportunity to compete for $5,000 endowment prizes made possible by Blue Grass Community Foundation and supportive donors.
The amounts raised by each local nonprofit are as follows:
— STRIDE Program: $23,269
— Clark County Homeless Coalition: $30,000
— St. Agatha Academy: $21,616
— New Beginnings of Winchester: $17,934
— Leeds Theatre: $17,509
— Partners in Education: $17,343
— Habitat for Humanity of Madison and Clark Counties: $15,133
— Clark County Community Services: $15,027
— Bluegrass Heritage Museum: $12,355
— Rowland Arts Center: $11,373
— Rose Mary C. Brooks Place: $10,794
— BCTC Winchester-Clark County Campus: $9,224
— LIFE for Pets: $9,999
— Winchester Youth Soccer League: $10,000
— Holly Rood: $9,999
— Hospice East: $9,999
— Winchester-Clark County Farmers Market: $3,868
— Friends of Hemp: $10,000.
